Kayla Beavers was born in Gastonia, NC. Her natural creativity lead her down an artistic path straight towards the design world. At the age of 13, her grandfather let her select everything that was needed to design a full bathroom, from wall color to fixtures. After she successfully completed the project, she knew this was the career she wanted to pursue. Kayla has been working in the design field for over 7 years, specializing in lighting design and interior design. She completed a very rigorous certified design program at Western Carolina University. Kayla is passionate about creating functional living spaces that incorporate her client's personal taste and needs. Kayla strongly believes that without proper lighting, the design of a home can suffer significantly. Her experience with color, material specification and coordination, space planning, attention to detail and problem solving skills ensure that your home design vision will come to life. She loves her job as the Interior Designer at Silver Fox Gallery.
Jennifer Ojeda was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Being an extrovert and raised around an entrepreneurial community, she knew she wanted her job to be exciting, influential, and non-stop. At age 18 she became the Assistant Manager of a local restaurant while going to school full time for a Business degree with a focus in Marketing and Retailing, while also participating in a local dance company. She then discovered that she wanted to pursue marketing further. Her first job in the field was working as a marketing assistant for a small business. Due to her hard work, a local nonprofit elected her to be on the board for communications. She is now the Store Manager of the Silver Fox Gallery. Sandra Dickinson was born in Wallingford, Connecticut. She has always had a lifelong love of art and nature. As a young child, Sandi's parents introduced her to Broadway plays, ballets, art galleries, The Museum of Natural History, planetariums, botanical gardens, and the many historic hotels and restaurants of New York City. As a young child she recalls noticing every detail, learning the importance of scale and proportion, color and balance, and at just 4 years old she could be found rearranging fruit in the fruit basket, pillows on the sofa, and all the stuffed animals on her bed. Sandi enjoys helping people and has always tried to live by her mother's motto "Joy multiplies as you share it with others." Sandi became a nurse but her creative side was always aching to be fulfilled. She would remedy this by helping family and friends create personalized interior spaces that they loved. Eventually Sandi began working in a 10,000 square foot furniture store, creating vignettes and merchandising the entire store. Realizing that most people have difficulty visualizing a space, she began helping clients pull rooms together. She loves working with customers to help find just the right elements to complete their personal spaces. Sandra appreciates the American made, beautiful showcase of furniture, art, lighting, etc. at The Silver Fox Gallery. By helping people and creating beautiful spaces, she now enjoys the best of both worlds!
Kathryn Spino was born and raised in the suburbs outside of Detroit, Michigan. From the time she was a little girl, she loved to play "dress up". Styling her dolls clothes, hair and make-up and eventually helping her friends with theirs. That led her to Cosmetology school where she found her first love, which was helping everyone look beautiful. After many years working as a hair stylist, she got the opportunity to move on to her second love, which was working in the Travel industry. Traveling was something she truly enjoyed and took every opportunity to hop on a plane, train or cruise ship and go off to many wonderful destinations.
During that time she relocated to South Florida where she lived and worked for 30+ years. After 9/11 and travel came to a screeching halt, she decided to go back to her first love in the Beauty industry. This time she worked as a Salon Consultant, advising salon owners on how to grow their business. Eventually she went on to a career as a Field Recruiter for a national hair salon chain. Interviewing and hiring Salon Managers and Hair Stylists to work in one of their 120 salons in South Florida. It was so exciting to be working with such creative people and helping them find their dream job.
Helping people has always been one of her all time passions. Whether it was helping them with their hair, salon business or sending them on a dream vacation, it was always about being of service. That passion led her to volunteering as the Affiliate Director for I Support the Girls-South Florida. The international organization collects and distributes new and gently worn bras and hygiene products to women and girls in the community that are under-served due to homelessness, domestic abuse, survivors of sex trafficking and foster care. She has always felt that it is our responsibility as human beings to give back and help others that are in need.
Since relocating to Hendersonville to be closer to family, she is enjoying her time working with customers at the Silver Fox. She loves helping them find the perfect piece of furniture or artwork to enhance the beauty of their home.
Jesse Nelson was born and raised in the plateau village of Cashiers, North Carolina. While completing an undergraduate degree in Interior Design (minors: history & art) at Western Carolina University, he relocated to the 130 year-old family farm in Maggie Valley to live with his grandfather.
Always being concerned with the origins of things, Jesse spent countless hours researching the details and histories of artworks or antiques he had uncovered at the family farm or in the countess antique markets in the area. With a passion rooted in the Arts in Crafts movement, his mission is to provide clients with the best handcrafted furnishings and art, which are all found at Silver Fox Gallery.
Recalling a quotation from the godfather of the Arts and Crafts movement, William Morris:
"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful"; Jesse expresses the importance of forming a relationship with clients to discover the products that will best suit their needs for beauty and functionality.
